They're Not Stars....

They're SNOWFLAKES!!!!!!

The night before Thanksgiving, we had

our first real snowflake sighting!

We had a house full of family, and the kids

wasted no time in celebrating winter's arrival.

Luca said it tasted like ice cream!

(I tried it just to be sure and it didn't taste like ice cream,

but who am I to risk an opportunity like that!)

Oh Fudge!

Spent the last day of our long weekend (is it really over already?!?) doing some more unpacking and cleaning. Luca asked if she could have a "cooking class" like Brenin has for school once a week and made some yummy fudge! She's such a little woman at heart, so she was sportin' the apron and stirring that pot with one hand on her hip...so cute!

Well, it's been a whirlwind ride selling/buying houses around here. Two months ago when we decided to list our house, I never would have imagined myself blogging from a NEW HOUSE in November!!! I'm so grateful the process was so smooth and so FAST, but have also found myself a bit overwhelmed and thinking I may or may not be going crazy in the process. :-)

I popped on my blog the other day and found my children dressed in Halloween costumes, my background gone...I think I even saw a tumbleweed roll through.

I'm going to blog about the move / new house in a separate post, but in the meantime I wanted to share a few shots from the Holly Jolly Light Parade in Baraboo last night. It felt so good to bundle the girls in their snow-suits for the first time this year and stand in the cool, crisp air to watch the parade go by. It's the ultimate kick-off to Christmas! Actually, last year at this time, we had been home from Ethiopia only 1 day, and the parade was our first family-of-FOUR outing EVER!! One of my favorite days of the year!

Halloween

Hope everyone had a happy Halloween! Wonder Woman & Supergirl held out for 2 whole hours of trick or treating (although as you can see Wonder Woman broke down and put her winter coat on halfway through...lightweight!) After trick or treating, we were treated to a yummy mummy hot dog dinner at friends' house and then off to Grandma & Grandpa's for some more spoiling!

It was another first for Luca, and after the first couple of houses, she came skipping down the walk toward me after collecting another treat and said, "I like to do that!" :-)
